Breve historia sobre el Coloquio    Brief history of the Colloquium 

The Coloquio Internacional del Noreste Mexicano y Texas has been organized since 2003 alternating between Mexico and Texas. "The present-day territory referred to as Northeastern Mexico and South Texas, although delineated by two countries, is an area with a shared history. In spite of some efforts to make this international boundary a cultural barrier, the fact is that this border is the epicenter of a common past that continues to recreate ancient cultural traditi​ons." From the first volume published featuring conference proceedings from the 2003 Coloquio held in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.​

El Coloquio Internacional del Noreste Mexicano y Texas se formo en 2003 y desde entonces se alterna entre Mexico y Texas. "No obstante formar hoy en día un territorio repartido entre dos países, el espacio geográfico que conforman el noreste de México y el sur de Texas es un ara de historia compartida. A pesar de algunos esfuerzos por hacer de la actual línea fronteriza internacional un dique cultural, en realidad la frontera es mas el epicentro de un pasado común que recrea anejas tradiciones culturales.” Del primer volumen de ponencias presentadas en el Coloquio del 2003 en Saltillo, Coahuila, México.
